You decide to get serious about losing weight and reserve your beloved bacon or sausage for those occasional splurge meals.
The problem is, if you were raised on bacon and eggs or grits and sausage, breakfast just doesn’t feel like breakfast without them. And, you know how things turn out when you don’t actually like the way you eat. You quit. You don’t lose the weight. Then, eventually you start again. But, that stops today.
Breakfast meat can be a staple in figure friendly breakfasts when you know what to look for when choosing brands.

The reason that bacon and sausage doesn’t normally fit well into meals that support weight loss is simple- normal commercial breakfast meat is low in protein, high in fat, and filled with sodium and preservatives that don’t support your weight loss goals.
However, there are natural alternatives to what was typically sold in grocery stores just a decade ago that totally fit the figure friendly way of eating.
The following breakfast meats are high in protein and void of chemical fillers and preservatives. The bonus is that they taste great.
Trader Joe’s Turkey Bacon

Protein / Serving: 6 grams
Fat / Serving: 1.5 grams
Trader Joe’s Maple Chicken Sausage

Protein / Serving: 10 grams
Fat / Serving: 4 grams
Jones Turkey Sausage Patties

Protein / Serving: 6 grams
Fat / Serving: 3 grams
Most times, I add a serving of one of these along with eggs to get a great dose of protein and a weight loss friendly breakfast that is similar to what my family normally eats.
