When a cocktail at the pool or barbeque leads into a couple more, swapping out a delicious mocktail instead could be the key to keeping your results. And, no eating light all day to save up calories for lots of drinks will not do the trick.
Here’s a quick rundown on why keeping your alcohol intake under control is key to getting and keeping results. Alcohol is broken down in your liver. The problem is that your liver is also responsible for burning fat. When it is busy breaking down alcohol, it takes a break from burning fat. For many of us, alcohol lowers our inhibitions. You may be happy to have a few nachos and move on under normal circumstances. However, under the influence of alcohol, we are less likely to pass or stick to normal portions of indulgent food. The list goes on and I am sure that none of this is a complete surprise to you. So, if one or two cocktails is not enough, then try alternating a delicious mocktail with your normal drink. This way, you get to enjoy yourself without sabotaging your results.
White Grape Mocktail
- 6 ounces Lime Flavored Club Soda
- 2 ounces White Grape Juice
- ½ cup Crushed Ice
- Pour the white grape juice into a cup.
- Pour in the club soda.
- Add the crushed ice.
That’s all. In just a few seconds, you will have a tasty summer mocktail to help you keep the results you have worked for all year.
