Figure friendly bread has enough fiber and protein to offset the impact of the starchy carbs on your body. It is like literally cancelling out the carbs. In general, look for bread that has what Dr. Jade Teta calls a lower “hormonal carb number”. Less than 15 is ideal. But, the lower the better. You calculate the hormonal carb number by subtracting the grams of fiber and protein from the total grams of carbs.
